Telugu actor Mohan Babu's home robbed of Rs 10 lakh, domestic help arrested

Tollywood actor Mohan Babu's residence in Hyderabad's Jalpally was robbed of Rs 10 lakh, the police said. On Thursday, September 26, they revealed that the prime suspect in the case is the actor's domestic worker, who has since been arrested for allegedly stealing money from his home.

Speaking to PTI, a police official stated that the domestic worker allegedly stole the cash from Mohan Babu's personal secretary, who had visited the house on Sunday, September 22. He added that when the personal secretary discovered the money was missing, a case was registered at the Pahadishareef police station.

During the investigation, the domestic worker was apprehended in Tirupati and



brought back to Hyderabad, an official stated. The worker was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing cash from the personal secretary’s bag, they added.

The police managed to recover Rs 7.36 lakh from the accused, though they discovered that the remaining amount had already been spent. Further investigation is ongoing. At the time of writing, the actor has yet to release a statement or address the incident.

Actor Mohan Babu was last seen in the 2023 film Shaakunthalam, co-starring Samantha. He played the role of Durvasa Maharishi. The actor will be next seen in the Tamil film Kannappa. The film will star his son Vishnu Manchu and is touted to hit the theatres in December.
