Thalapathy Vijay's Sachein to re-release this summer

Marking 20 years of Thalapathy Vijay's 2005 film Sachein, its producer Kalaipuli S Thanu announced that the rom-com will be re-released this summer. The iconic film also featured Genelia Deshmukh.

Kalaipuli shared on X the news of the films’ re-release with the caption, “Celebration in summer”, with the hashtag #SacheinRerelease. Kalaipuli Thanu is a prominent producer who has produced films like Asuran, Kabali, Theri and, the recent Kannada superhit film Max.

Sachein is a Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by John, with Vijay playing the titular character.



The film also starred Genelia Deshmukh, Bipasha Basu, Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Raghuvaran, among others. The music for the film was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was originally released in theatres on April 14, 2005.

Ever since the announcement, fans of Thalapathy Vijay have expressed their excitement for the film on X. One fan wrote, “Time to see Kollywood Jesus” while referring to Vijay. Another wrote, “2025 blockbuster loading....!” In another X post a fan wrote, “One of my favourite Thalapathy movie. Thalapathy looks so charming in Sachein, a tailor made character for him”.
