Veteran Actor-filmmaker Vishal Anand passes away at 82

Veteran Bollywood actor-filmmaker Vishal Anand passed away on Sunday. He was 82.

A statement from Anand’s family read, “Bhisham Kohli also known as Vishal Anand passed away in the afternoon of October 4, 2020. He was 82 years old, and not keeping in good health since the last couple of months. We would like people to remember him from the 1976 super-hit song & movie Chalte Chalte. Our prayers are with him. May he rest in peace. We kindly request members of the media to



respect the family’s privacy during this sad time.”

Vishal Anand was best known for featuring in 70s movies like Chalte Chalte and Taxi Driver. He also directed and produced a few films.

The actor-filmmaker was also known for giving music director Bappi Lahiri his big break in Bollywood. Lahiri had scored the music for Chalte Chalte, which was produced by Anand.

Popular actor and former VJ Purab Kohli is Vishal Anand’s nephew.
