Veteran South Indian actor Pushpalatha died on Tuesday in Chennai. She was 87. According to reports, she succumbed to age-related health issues after undergoing prolonged treatment.
Pushpalatha's acting career began with a cameo in the 1955 film Nalla Thangai. She made her lead debut in Konga Nattu Thangam in 1962. During a career as an actor, she appeared in more than
100 films in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam languages, including films like Sarada, Aalayamani, Paar Magaley Paar, and Kalyanaraman.
Born in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore, Pushpalatha came from a Catholic Chettinad family. She was married to veteran actor AVM Rajan.
Pushpalatha is survived by her husband, their two daughters, and grandchildren.
