French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview talked about the cultural representation of the country in shows and movies. He appreciated the Netflix show, Emily in Paris, in which his wife, Brigitte Macron, also made a cameo recently. Macron commented on the show's story shifting from Paris to Rome in the coming season.
While talking to Variety, he lightly remarked that he would do everything in his power to ensure 'Emily stays in Paris'. He said, "We will fight hard. And we will ask them to remain in Paris! Emily in
Paris in Rome doesn't make sense."
The President added that the show, featuring Lilly Collins in the lead, helps create a positive image of the country. He mentioned it highlights the country's 'attractiveness'. Macron said, "I was super proud, and she was very happy to do it. It’s just a few minutes, but I think it was a very good moment for her. I think it’s good for the image of France. Emily in Paris is super positive in terms of attractiveness for the country. For my own business, it’s a very good initiative."
