Golden Jubilee of IFFI starts on Nov 20

The Golden Jubilee of International Film Festival of India, IFFI starts on 20th November in Goa. 

The International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) is the first International Film Festival held anywhere in Asia. The acclaimed film festival has travelled a fascinating journey in the past six and half decades.

IFFI began its journey in 1952 by the Films Division with 23 countries entering over



two hundred films!  The festival travelled to Madras, Delhi and Calcutta in the next few years.

The Competition Category was introduced in the 3rd edition in 1965. Sri Lankan film Gamperaliya was the first recipient of the Golden Peacock Award.

Since 2004, however, IFFI finally came to Goa. In 2019, IFFI’s 50th edition brings cinema lovers from across the world.
