It is common knowledge that YouTube is the world’s largest video streaming application that can be enjoyed on your mobile phones and PCs. Though millions of hours of content are streamed on YouTube daily, users have complained about one of its most common flaws- its inability to keep playing the video once the app is closed.
Fixing this issue for many users, YouTube has now released picture-in-picture mode on its app as a new feature. This feature has been released in India as well. With this mode, users will be able to play videos on YouTube in a mini player and then use other apps on their phone with YouTube.
Though this new feature is being welcomed by internet users across the world, not everyone will be able to reap the benefits of YouTube’s picture-in-picture mode. To use the app in this mode, you must have a subscription to YouTube premium and you must be an iOS i.e. Apple
user.
As announced by the company in June, this picture-in-picture (PiP) mode has been rolled out worldwide for testing and will be launched for YouTube Premium users. The testing round for this feature will run till October 31, 2021. The feature is not being released for Android users yet.
