Kannada actor Sudeep's Rs.19 crore divorce

Bengaluru: Popular Kannada actor Sudeep and his wife of 14 years, Priya Radhakrishnan, on Friday mutually consented to get divorced after the former is understood to have agreed to pay Rs 19 crore compensation. Theirs was a love marriage.

Priya filed a petition for divorce in a family court in Bengaluru on Friday. Priya had sought appropriate compensation and Sudeep agreed to pay the whopping sum, sources close to the actor said.

However, the veracity of the claim could not be confirmed as both the parties



chose to maintain silence. “It’s my personal life and domestic issue. Hence, I can’t comment or say anything on this at this stage,” the actor said.

Sudeep tied the knot with Priya, a native of Kerala, in 2001. The couple have an 11-year-old daughter, Saanvi. The couple decided to separate due to incompatibility and other issues, it is said. They also wished to respect each other’s need. 

Sudeep consented to Priya having the custody of their daughter, said sources in the tinsel world.
