Karan Johar has always, without saying too much, been vocal about his life - be it professional or personal.
So when the director was recently invited at the India Today conclave, he spoke about the reality of his films and how he draws them from his own personal experiences.
People say Hindi films are theatrical and dramatic, but somewhere its roots are in real life. I have been at a shaadi ka mandap, when the love of my life was getting married to somebody else... When it happens to you, you feel like you can't get over what's happening to you. Karan Johar,
Filmmaker
Karan, never one to shy away from busting myths about stars in B-Town, also added that he thinks marriages are like dinosaurs in the industry.
"A happy marriage in the industry would really jolt me. I'd be like, 'You're a dinosaur, get out of here'."
The filmmaker was asked to pick between money and true love, to which he answered, "True love goes away, lust takes over at times, so I would be rich and single."
He further spoke about how he deals with heartbreaks. "Make your work your ambition. Not your love life," said KJo before signing off.
