Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar who was yesterday admitted to a city hospital following a chest infection was given discharge this afternoon.
According to hospital staff, the singer, who turned 90 on September 28, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Suburban Bandra in Mumbai during the early hours of Monday
after she complained of breathing difficulties.
Hospital sources said that she is now back at her home and is recovering. Mangeshkar, who has lent her voice to over 1,000 songs in Hindi alone, was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honour in the country, in 2001
