It has been reported that Mumbai Police has launched proceedings to prosecute Kapil Sharma and Irrfan Khan. This is for illegal construction in their DLH Enclave in Oshiwara.
This came after BMC launched a complaint against both the stars and four others. As reported by TOI, an officer from Oshiwara Police Station revealed that a charge sheet will soon be submitted before the court and that, “large-scale violations” were found during inspections of the apartments.
“It has been found that the accused carried out alterations after the apartments were purchased, and the developer helped them in such renovations,” the officer said. Senior inspector Subhash Khanvilkar from Oshiwara Police Station too confirmed, “the investigation is over.”
In addition to the above, the police sources
further reveal how Sharma has pulled down the walls of his apartment to make the rooms bigger. “In the original building plan, the kitchen was next to the entrance of the apartment. However, we found it next to a bedroom, which itself was made bigger by pulling down a wall. A major portion of refuge area too was taken over,” said the police source.
This all started when the popular TV comedian exposed a BMC officer who demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from him to allow him to construct a new office in the city by tweeting the same to the PM Narendra Modi. However, BMC lashed out in Kapil by taking a different route when they found out that unauthorized work was carried out on the 9th floor of the building, where Sharma has a flat.
Kapil meanwhile is reportedly looking to sell off the flat and has blamed the DLH developers for the alterations.
