In Assam, the second Guwahati International Film Festival begins today. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the festival in the evening in the presence of several dignitaries.
The festival is being organised by Jyoti Chitraban in association with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute.
Chairman of Jyoti Chitraban, Pabitra Margherita said, a total of 108 movies from 50 countries will be screened during the week-long festival, with a special focus on ASEAN countries. He said, a series of events will also be held on the sidelines of the
festival.
"The Guwahati international film festival is being organized by Jyoti Chitraban in association with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute. A total of 108 movies will be screened during the weeklong festival from 50 countries with a special focus on ASEAN countries.
The idea of the festival is to promote Assam. The Chairman of the Jyoti Chitraban said, a series of activities including discussion, question answer session will be held on the sideline of the festival. Guests from different countries have already arrived in Guwahati to take part in the event.
