Hyderabad, February 12, 2015 (Agencies) Twenty seven fresh cases of swine flu have been reported in Telangana State which recorded 42 deaths since January 1 this year, a bulletin issued by the state government said here on Wednesday. "In the current year, from January 1 till February 10, 2,751 samples have been tested out of which 903 were found to be positive and number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu are 42," the bulletin said. 

It said 92 samples were tested on Tuesday and 27 have been found to be positive for the virus. The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to February 10) is showing a decline in intensity.



 However, the citizens are advised to take precautions and report to a hospital on appearance of the first symptoms of the disease like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain, it said.  

Sufficient stock of medicines is available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals, the bulletin said, adding there are enough testing kits and kits for Viral Transport Medium (VTM). Homoeopathy doctors have stated that homeo medicine can also be taken as a preventive measure under the guidance of a homeopathy doctor. Medicines are available free of cost at Government Homeo Hospital, Ramanthapur, in the city and all AYUSH dispensaries.
