A recent study by University College London and the University of Oxford found that just 30 minutes of exercise can enhance brain performance for up to 24 hours. Researchers monitored individuals aged 50 to 83, who wore activity trackers and took cognitive tests daily. Results showed every 30-minute increase in moderate to vigorous activity boosted working memory by 5 percent and
episodic memory by over 2 percent.
The findings highlight significant cognitive benefits for even those already cognitively healthy. Published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, this study underscores the lasting impact of physical activity on brain health.
