In Tamil Nadu, 104 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed on Wednesday taking the total to 2162.

94 of them are from Chennai including 30 primary cases whose contact history is being traced.

82 patients were discharged after recovering from the illness and two people died of the disease in the last 24-hours. The active case load has marginally gone up to 922.

Meanwhile, the state chief minister Edappadi Palaniswamy reviewed the Covid19 situation with all the district collectors yesterday through video-conferencing.

Cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai and Salem remain the cynosure of the Covid-19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu. Therefore additional efforts are being contemplated for the cities to control the



disease.

More Field Support Teams with IAS, IPS and the state service officials have been formed in the regions to oversee the implementation of the containment activities.

As the 4-day intensified lockdown has got over in three major cities including Chennai yesterday, the shopping of essential things like vegetables and groceries has been permitted for a day today till 5 pm.
It has been announced that from tomorrow, the business time of the shops would be from 6 am to 1 pm till the general lockdown gets over.

The wholesale market at Koyambedu in Chennai has been declared out of bounds for the general public as some of its traders are found to be infected with the disease.
