Twelve more COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from Kerala taking the total reported cases to 40 in the State. Out of this, three people had already recovered from the disease and presently 37 people are in hospital being treated for the infection.
The new positive COVID-19 cases reported yesterday, include six from Kasargode, five from Kochi and one from Palakkad district. It is found that one of the person, who is confirmed with COVID-19 infection from Kasargode district had participated in many public events and gatherings.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told that this situation
is extremely serious. Accordingly, strict guidelines are made for Kasargode specifically. All Government offices will remain closed for one week and all religious institutions will remain closed for coming two weeks in Kasargode district. It was further announced that all the Group B, C and D employees of State need to come only on alternate days to office till March 31st.
The surveillance and screening had been strengthened in the state. Mr Vijayan further urged people to be extremely and strictly follow guidelines and to support the Janata curfew announced by Prime Minister. He said, the Metro services and KSRTC bus services will not function on Sunday.
