In Tamil Nadu, the active Covid-19 caseload remained at 10,588 yesterday. The new infections were recorded to be 1236, including 333 in Chennai. 1330 patients recovered from the infection while 13 others succumbed to it. More than 64-thousand people were tested for the infection yesterday.
The Covid-19 recovery rate in Tamil Nadu has risen to 97.17 percent, one of the highest in the country. While the case positivity rate has dropped significantly, the
doubling time of infection has soared up considerably. It has led the administration to permit 100 percent seat occupancy in the buses being operated by the state run transport corporations and private players.
Perambalur district clocked a nil report in new cases yesterday and its active caseload figure remains at three. Eleven other districts now have less than a hundred patients each.
