Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala witnesses a slight hike in Covid figures as it confirms 19,675 new covid positive cases on Wednesday. Over 1,19,594 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. 142 deaths were also confirmed due to Covid yesterday, taking the death toll to 24,039. Bringing respite, 19,702 recoveries were also reported. At present, 1,61,026 is the active caseload in the state.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that despite the decline in the spread of Covid in
the state, extreme caution should be exercised and the Covid guidelines should be strictly followed. The number of active covid cases and hospital admissions have decreased considerably.
This indicates that the incidence of the rapid spread of coronavirus infection has come down in the state. Regarding the reopening of schools, the CM assured that clear guidelines will be issued for the opening of the school in the coming days.
