The second wave of Covid-19 infections in Telangana continued to rise with authorities reporting 2478 new Covid-19cases and five fatalities on Thursday.
For the first time during this pandemic, the health department conducted a record 1, 01, 986 rapid antigen Covid-19 tests on Thursday, while results of another 3907 samples are under process.
The daily Covid-19 infections in areas under GHMC have crossed the 400 mark with authorities reporting 402 new infections on Thursday.
A total of 208 Covid-19 infections from Medchal-Malkajgiri and another 105 infections from Jagtiyal were also reported on Thursday.
Cases also continued to rise in Nirmal, with authorities reporting 111 new infections while another 176 new infections were reported from Nizamabad.
About 162 Covid-19 infections were reported from Rangareddy district on Thursday.
The cumulative number of active Covid-19 infections in Telangana has now risen to 15, 472 out of which 9, 674 positive individuals are under home and institutional isolation.
The total number of fatalities as on Thursday has reached 1746
in Telangana.
With 2478 new Covid-19 infections, the total number of positive cases since the pandemic has now reached 3, 21, 182. A total of 363 persons have recovered on Thursday, taking the total recoveries in the State to 3, 03, 964 with a recovery rate of 94.63 percent, while the countrywide recovery rate was 91.2 percent.
So far, a total of 1, 07, 61, 939 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State.
The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 72 from Adilabad, 35 from Bhadradri, 402 from areas under GHMC, 105 from Jagtiyal, 23 from Jangaon, 11 from Bhupalpally, nine from Gadwal, 98 from Kamareddy, 87 from Karimnagar, 54 from Khammam, 67 from Asifabad, 96 from Mahabubnagar, 16 from Mahabubabad, 85 from Mancherial, 33 from Medak, 208 from Medchal Malkajgiri, four from Mulugu, 43 from Nagarkurnool, 88 from Nalgonda, 16 from Narayanpet, 111 from Nirmal, 176 from Nizamabad, 33 from Peddapalli, 61 from Siricilla, 162 from Rangareddy, 79 from Sangareddy, 54 from Siddipet, 39 from Suryapet, 55 from Vikarabad, 33 from Wanaparthy, 14 from Warangal Rural, 82 from Warangal Urban and 27 from Yadadri.
