In Sri Lanka, 26 persons tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. All of them were navy personnel from Welisara camp. Among the 915 patients reported in the country so far, 523 are tri-forces personnel, mostly navy personnel and their close contacts. The cases in the navy camp have surfaced during last three weeks but the cases during the same period among common people have dipped considerably.
A total of 382 patients have recovered while 524 are active cases under
treatment. The country wide curfew has been relaxed during daytime to commence routine economic activities in all areas excluding for Colombo and Gampaha districts . However, social distancing norms and other safety precautions are being adhered to strictly. The country has scheduled general elections on 20th of next month but election Commission is monitoring the situation closely and has not given its final go ahead for political campaigning.
