In Puducherry, 29 people tested positive for COVID-19 and one died yesterday. The Puducherry health department in a report said that 28 new cases were reported in Puducherry region and one in Yanam.
Among the new cases 20 were admitted to the government medical college, 6 in Jipmer, 1 in Yanam government hospital and 2 outside Puducherry.
22 patients were discharged from the government medical college, 8 were discharged from Jipmer and one from Karaikal Government hospital. One person died
at the Jipmer hospital.
Presently, 209 cases are being treated at the government medical college, 97 in Jipmer hospital, 37 in COVID Care Centres, 35 in Karaikal GH, 2 in Yanam, 1 in Mahe GH and 4 outside Puducherry (2 each in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts of Taminadu).
So far, 648 people have been infected by the virus in Puducherry of which 252 have been treated and discharged, 11died, leaving 385 active cases in the hospitals.
