In Odisha, the COVID-19 caseload has increased beyond 80 thousand. With 2,949 fresh cases detected during the last 24 hours from all the 30 districts of the state, the number of Corona positive persons have increased to 81,479.
Among these, the death of 10 more persons yesterday has taken the total casualties to 419. As per the latest information, 54,405 persons have already recovered, living behind 26,602 infected persons under medical isolation in different COVID-19 facilities.
Amidst the rising graph of infection in the state, one positive aspect about the state's fight against COVID-19 is
the declining rate of positivity. Out of 13,63,620 sample tests conducted so far, only 5.98 per cent people have turned positive.
Meanwhile, Khordha, the host district of capital Bhubaneswar, which continued to top the COVID-19 tally in the state for over a fortnight, has left space for Cuttack to overtake it in terms of the viral load.
While Khordha has reported 474 positive cases, Cuttack has hiked ahead with 589. On the other hand, the district of Ganjam, which once was the Corona hotspot of the state, has managed to pull its COVID-19 cases further down to 179.
