Hyderabad: The steady surge in daily Omicron variant Covid-19 infections in Telangana has continued with health authorities on Tuesday reporting 2,983 positive cases out of which 1,206 were from areas under the GHMC. The health authorities also have reported two Covid-19 fatalities on Tuesday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,062.
The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Tuesday have surged to 22,472 out of which close to 21,000 active cases are from areas under GHMC.
Apart from Hyderabad, Omicron driven Covid infections are also registering a significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 259 cases from
Medchal-Malkajgiri, 227 cases in Rangareddy district and 118 from Hanumakonda.
Apart from urban centres, the cases reported from the districts included 96 cases in Sangareddy, 81 cases in Peddapalli, 76 from Nizamabad, 75 from Mancherial and 77 from Khammam.
The health department conducted 1,07,904 Covid tests on Tuesday out of which results of 13,895 samples were awaited. On Tuesday, 2,706 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 96.29 per cent. So far, a total of 3,08,17,562 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,14,639 have tested positive and 6,88,105 persons have recovered.
