In Telangana, 30 new positive cases of Coronavirus reported on a single day yesterday. Three persons died while being treated for COVID-19.
Two persons died in Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad while one more died in a city-based private hospital. With this the total deaths in the state, due to COVID-19 rose to nine. All the positive cases and deaths reported yesterday are returnees from Tablighi event held in Delhi between 13-15 of last month.
The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appealed to people who attended Markaz, their family members and close contacts to come
forward for medical tests. He assured them stating that it will be in the interest of their families and also for the entire community. Hundreds of contacts with Markaz returnees are being brought for medical tests in Hyderabad and also in Districts across the state.
Meanwhile, the security at Gandhi Hospital and other designated hospitals for Doctors and Medical staff has been beefed up. This is following an attack over doctors by relatives of a COVID-19 patient who died last evening at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad.
