As many as 31 students have tested positive for Covid-19 in a government school in Andipatti in Tamil Nadu’s Theni district in the last two days. Apart from the students, 10 others, including parents, tested positive, taking the tally to 41.
The incident came to light when several students started showing symptoms of a cold.
The district authorities, over the past two days, have been conducting Covid tests on the students, teachers and
parents. On Thursday July 7, 12 students tested positive, and on Friday, another 19 students tested positive.
Apart from the 31 students, 10 people, including parents and others in the school, have tested positive, taking the total tally of those infected to 41.
The district authorities have started initiatives to sanitise the school and its immediate surroundings. The school has also been ordered to remain closed for the next three days.
