Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh's COVID-19 tally rose to 16,092 on Tuesday as 31 more people, including five Army jawans, tested positive for the infection, a health official said.
Single-day recoveries continued to outnumber new cases as 64 more people were cured of the disease, State Surveillance Officer Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
West Kameng district reported the highest number of new cases at nine, followed by the Capital Complex region (seven) and Namsai (six), he said, adding all the fresh infections were detected during rapid antigen tests.
Arunachal Pradesh now has 1,007 active coronavirus cases, while 15,036 people have recovered from
the disease and 49 patients have succumbed to the infection so far, he said.
The recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients in the state has improved to 93.43 per cent, Jampa said.
The positivity rate stands at 6.57 per cent and the fatality rate at 0.30 per cent, he said.
The Capital Complex region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 671, followed by West Kameng (92) and East Siang (36), the official said.
The state has so far tested 3,51,737 samples for COVID-19, including 1,024 on Monday, he added.
