48,700 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 524 deaths in Maharashtra

After days of reporting over 60,000 cases, Maharashtra on Monday saw a sharp drop in daily Covid-19 cases with 48,700 fresh infections. The fresh cases reported on Monday have taken state's tally of active cases to 6,74,770.

According to the state government data, Maharashtra also



recorded 524 coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The novel coronavirus has claimed 65,284 lives to date. The case fatality rate (CFR) among patients in the state now stands at 1.5 per cent.

A total of 2,59,72,018 samples have been tested for Covid-19 in Maharashtra to date.
