5,042 new cases of COVID-19 in Kerala in last 24 hours

Kerala reported 5,042 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, informed a press release from the office of Health Minister K. K. Shailaja. 

4,640 recoveries also were reported in the state. 23 deaths were also confirmed of Covid-19 on Monday taking the official death toll to



859. 

Among the new Covid cases reported, 29 persons had returned from abroad while 102 returned from other states. 4,338 persons developed the disease through contact. The virus source of 450 is unknown. 110 health workers also developed the disease. 38,696 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
