524 new cases of Coronavirus reported in Gujarat

In Gujarat, 524 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from 19 districts in the last 24 hours taking the total tally to 24,628. The State Health Department in a statement said, as many as 418 persons were discharged from hospitals in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 17,090. The death toll increased to 1,534 after 28 more patients succumbed to the infection.

 

The situation in Ahmedabad remains alarming as a total of 332 cases and 21 deaths were reported from the district alone. Out of the 524 fresh cases, 332 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad district alone which is the worst affected in the state. With this, the total Covid 19 cases in the



district has increased to 17,299. Similarly death toll in the district has also climbed to 1,231.

 

The State Health Department said at present, there are around 6000 patients undergoing treatment for Covid 19 at various hospitals in the state of which 64 patients are on ventilator and in critical condition. 

After Ahmedabad, diamond city Surat and Vadodara reported the highest number of cases. In Surat, the total number of cases rose to 2,714, with the addition of 71 new infections yesterday, while in Vadodara, the count has increased to 1,638 with 41 fresh cases.
