5,471 new Covid-19 cases, 16 deaths in Kerala

Kerala recorded 5,471 new COVID-19 cases and 16 fatalities on Saturday, taking the caseload to 9,99,523 and the death toll to 3,970.

Health minister K K Shailaja said the state tested 85,969 samples in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate was 6.36 per



cent.

"Till now, the state has tested 1,05,26,236 samples," the minister said.

Shailaja said 5,835 patients got cured of the disease today, taking the total recoveries to 9,31,706.

"Currently, there are 63,581 persons under treatment...," Shailaja said in a release.
