62 more Covid-19 positive cases reported in Telangana

The trend of swift rise in cases of novel coronavirus in Telangana continued with health authorities reporting 62 more Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, which pushed the overall number of positive cases in the State to 334.

The 62 positive cases is the second largest surge after 75 positive cases reported on Friday. Out of the total 334 positive cases, the number of persons who have recovered and discharged are 33 while the number of fatalities stood at 11. At present, there are 289 active cases of novel coronavirus, admitted to various government hospitals.

In the last four days, Telangana has reported 207 coronavirus positive cases. Health officials had reported 27 positive cases on Thursday, another 75 on Friday while 43 cases tested positive on Saturday. With 62 more coronavirus positive cases reported today, the



overall number of Covid-19 cases in the last four days in Telangana rose to 207.

Among the districts, in terms of number of Covid-19 positive cases detected, Hyderabad reported the maximum positive coronavirus cases. On Sunday, 52 new cases were reported and the total cases reported here so far shot up to 145 cases. Ten persons who had recovered were discharged.

After Hyderabad, Warangal (Urban) reported maximum cases with 23 persons testing positive of which one person has recovered and discharged. Nizamabad district was third on the list with 19 positive cases and no recoveries.

All the persons who have tested positive for coronavirus in the last three to four days belong to the Nizamuddin Markaz cluster in New Delhi, the health authorities said.
