For the first time in close to two months, Karnataka reported more recoveries than the fresh COVID-19 cases yesterday. In all, 4,776 COVID-19 patients cured and discharged from various hospitals in the state yesterday. This is the highest one-day discharge from the state. The total number of recovered patients have gone up to 62,500.
According to the State Health Department 4,752 new COVID positive cases were reported in the state yesterday among them 1,497 new cases reported from Bengaluru city. The total number of
cases in the state have gone up to 1,39,571. Out of 74,469 active cases in the state, 629 patients are in ICU among them 330 from Bengaluru.
Ninety eight patients have lost their lives yesterday, taking the total deaths due to COVID-19 in the state have gone up to 2,594. More than 17 lakh 46 thousand swab samples were tested till date, out of which 27,989 tests have been carried out yesterday. The state recovery rate stands at 44.78 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.86 per cent..
