678 new Coronavirus cases reported in India

New Delhi: A total of 678 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus have been reported in the country during the last twenty four hours taking the total number of cases to 6,412. Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that 504 patients have recovered so far and 199 deaths have been reported in the country.

Indian Council of Medical Research has said that a total of one lakh forty four thousand nine hundred ten samples have been tested so far including sixteen thousand two samples



which were tested yesterday. ICMR has approved 139 government laboratories and three collection centres in the country to conduct the test of COVID-19. In addition, 67 private laboratories' chains have also been given approval for the testing.

Meanwhile, Health and Family Welfare Ministry has placed the order for one crore seventy lakh Personal Protection Equipment and 49 thousand, ventilators. The supply has already been started.
