A day after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal appealed to all coronavirus survivors to donate plasma for serious patients undergoing treatment for the disease, about 700 Tablighi Jamaat members came forward to donate their plasma for treatment of other Covid-19 patients.
According to the report of ETV Bharat, the Spokesperson and advocate of Tablighi Jamaat, Mujibur Rahman said, “So far, about 700 Tablighi Jamaat people in Delhi have donated their plasma to Sultanpuri and Narela Quarantine Centre here. This number will increase even more in the coming days and Tablighi Jamaat returnees will do whatever it takes for those infected with the coronavirus.”
“At the moment, we are taking blood plasma from the patients who don’t have
diabetes and hypertension issues. The infection of coronavirus does not affect by seeing religion. At this time everyone has to remain united and we should appreciate whoever comes forward in the battle of Corona,” Rahman said.
It is also reportedly said that some 150 members of the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi have broken their Ramzan fast to donate blood plasma for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, members of the religious organisation that was roundly criticised for being a super spreader of the Coronavirus in the country.
After this appeal from Maulana Saad, the Tablighi Jamaaties in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Rajasthan, and other states, who have been cured of corona infection, decided to donate their blood plasma.
