In Orissa, 3,08,102 covid-19 patients have recovered so far with 728 recoveries recorded yesterday alone. On the other hand, 730 fresh infections were detected during the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally to 3,16,001. Even as covid-19 continues to lose ground across the state, the Odisha Government is yet to take a call on the reopening of academic and religious institutions.

While the opposition has been vocal about reopening religious places in the state assembly now in session, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on the other hand, has sought

centre's intervention in making guidelines on the time frame for the conduct of 10th and plus two board exams amid the pandemic.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, the chief minister Mr Patnaik has requested for national guidelines on the timelines for board exams citing inter-linkage between entrance exams and admission into higher educational institutions at the national level as the reason. In his letter, Mr Patnaik says, this will ease up tension among the aspiring students and their parents.
