In Telangana, 75 new cases tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday. It was the highest number of reported positive cases in a single day till now. With this, the total COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 229.
The State Government has informed that all people attended Tablighi event in Delhi and their family members with Corona-suspected Symptoms have been identified.
Meanwhile, 15 persons who were treated in designated hospitals and tested negative for Coronavirus were discharged yesterday. Two more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in the state taking the toll to 11. The deceased included one from Shadnagar and second from Secunderabad. Currently, 186 people are under treatment for COVID-19 in designated hospitals. Meanwhile, vigorous efforts are underway to develop a vaccine for COVID-19.
The entire focus of the state authorities is presently on identifying people with COVID-19 symptoms and provide them treatment at the earliest and
ensuring people of all sections with essential commodities and services during the lockdown.
The state authorities are making all out efforts for proper implementation of the total lockdown to prevent community transmission of the virus. Special teams of police and health workers initiated a massive look out for identifying contacts following death of a 50-year old woman who was tested positive for Coronavirus after death. She owned a groceries shop in her village near Shadnagar and she operated it till 30th of last month.
Now, the medical tests are being done to the four tenants in her house and travelled in train from Delhi. The special teams have fanned out in Shadnagar of Ranga Reddy district and neighbouring Mahabubanagar district to rule out possibility of community transmission, which is a cause of major concern. So far no case of community transmission came to light in Telangana.
