Telangana state witnessed huge spike in single-day coronavirus positive cases yesterday and 79 more people have been tested positive for Coronavirus. All the cases have been reported from the state Capital, Hyderabad and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area.
This is the highest ever reported number of cases on a single day in Telangana state so far. With the addition of these 79 positive cases, the number of total COVID-19 cases in the State has gone up to 1275. As per the official bulletin, at present, 444 COVID patients are undergoing treatment at hospital and 801 persons have fully recovered and discharged from hospitals after treatment.
However, the
number of deaths remains at 30. Meanwhile, the number of districts that have not reported a single positive case during the past 14 days has also gone up to 26 while three more districts have not reported a single positive case so far.
Meanwhile, two persons who were recovered have donated blood for plasma therapy. Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, the state nodal hospital, began collecting blood from recovered patients for using for Plasma theory yesterday. Superintendent Dr Rajarao appealed to those who recovered from COVID-19 to come forward to donate blood so that the antibodies in their plasma will be used for treating critical COVID patients.
