A medical officer posted in Bandipora and a pregnant woman was among the 80 people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the union territory's overall tally to 1,569.
Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS told a news agency that 39 samples returned positive among samples processed
at the hospital's viral diagnostic lab. As many as 5,422 samples are pending, he added.
The nodal officer for coronavirus control at SKIMS Soura, Dr GH Yatoo said that 35 of the new cases are from Kupwara, two from Srinagar and one each from Pulwama and Baramulla, a 30-year-old man from Khrew Pampore and a 40-year-old man from Rafiabad respectively.
