In Jharkhand, there has been a considerable rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, after 8,479 confirmed cases have been detected so far.
Briefing a press conference yesterday, the State Principal Health Secretary Dr Nitin Kulkarni informed that almost 65 per cent cases detected in the last 20 days have a travel history from either of the neighbouring states of Bihar or West Bengal.
The recovery rate has declined to 43.68 per cent as the active caseload stands at 4,689. The State Government has been concerned presently over the 22 cases on
ventilator and 23 cases on oxygen support, reeling under severe health crisis, while 86 people have succumbed to death in the state.
Meanwhile, four aspirational districts of the state Simdega, Latehar, Lohardaga and East Singhbhum have conducted more than 11,500 tests per million per day despite lack of infrastructure and enhanced medical facilities, which is far more than the national average of 11 000 tests per million per day.
The State Government is committed to increase the testing capacity in the state.
