9518 new cases of COVID-19 witnesses in Maharashtra in single day

Coronavirus pandemic situation in Maharashtra is getting scarier. The state that accounts for majority of Covid-19 cases in the country continued to be in the red on Sunday as it reported close to 10 thousand new infections in a day. 9518 new patients were detected in the state. This has put the tally of coronavirus tally beyond 3.10 lakh in the state. 258 deaths were recorded in the state on Sunday out of which, Mumbai alone accounted



for 149. This has brought total number of deaths in the state to 11,854.

This is the first time that the number of new cases crossed the 9,000-mark in a single day. At 1,812, Pune city saw a record spike in cases in a day, followed by 1,038 in Mumbai, which now has 1,01,388 cases.
