98 fresh positive cases of Covid-19 reported in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 98 fresh positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported. These all are among contacts who were found positive during sample testing.

A total of 734 cases of COVID-19 reported in the islands till date out of which 243 have recovered, while 483 are still active. Eight patients have died so far.

After having weekly



lockdowns on Saturday and Sunday, now decision has been taken to keep non-essential shops closed in South Andaman district from midnight tonight till 11th August.

These shops have also been shut down for a week from 2nd August in North and Middle Andaman. Inter district public movement has also been restricted.
