Government has said that a total of 68 lakh 26 thousand eight hundred 98 beneficiaries were vaccinated for COVID-19 till 6 P.M. yesterday.
Briefing media in New Delhi, Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry Dr. Mandeep Bhandari said, till now 56 lakh 65 thousand 172 Health Care Workers and 11 lakh 61 thousand 726 Front Line Workers have been vaccinated.
He said, yesterday, a total of 2 lakh 15 thousand 133 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6 pm. These include 54 thousand 834 Health Care Workers and 1 lakh 60 thousand 299 Front Line Workers. Dr Bhandari said, 33 States and Union Territories, UTs conducted the COVID vaccinations yesterday.
In thirteen States and UTs, more than 65 per cent of the registered Health Care Workers have been vaccinated. These are, Bihar, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Kerala, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Rajasthan.
Seven States and UTs have reported less than 40 per cent coverage of registered Health Care Workers. These are
Punjab, Meghalaya, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Nagaland and Puducherry.
10 States which recorded the highest number of vaccinations are Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Bihar.
Total of 30 persons have been hospitalized so far, which is point zero zero zero four per cent of the total vaccinations. Of the 30 cases of hospitalization, 19 were discharged after treatment, while nine persons died and two are under treatment. In the last 24 hours, one person who is suffering from Anaphylaxis has been hospitalized at JIPMER, Puducherry and is stable.
Total 23 deaths have been recorded till date. These comprise 0.0003 per cent of the total vaccinations. Of the 23, nine persons died in the hospital while 14 deaths are recorded outside the hospital.
No lew death has been reported in the last 24 hours. No case of serious or severe adverse event following immunization AEFI or death is attributable to vaccination till date.
