AP Records 232 COVID Cases Since Dec. 20

Vijayawada: AP has witnessed 232 Covid-19 cases since December 20, 2023, encompassing all age groups, including children. 147 have been recovered following treatment. No cases of death have been reported.

State health authorities are continuing to keep a close tab on all symptomatic cases. They are conducting mainly RT-PCR tests to confirm Coronavirus.

Visakhapatnam and NTR districts are reporting greater number of Covid cases than other districts.

State government has



spruced up Covid-19 wards at all government medical colleges and hospitals, equipping them with medical oxygen, oxygen concentrators and so on.

The genome sequencing lab set up at the Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada has found Omicron sub-variants JN.1 and JN.1.1.

Health authorities have asked people to comply with the Covid-19 protocol strictly by maintaining social distance, wearing face masks and washing hands with a sanitiser regularly.
