Guwahati: Assam reported 21 new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday taking the total case load to 2,17,776, according to a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission, Assam.
Meanwhile, 19,219 beneficiaries were administered the COVID-19 jabs during the day taking the total to 5,24,629 so far, the bulletin said.
A total 934 people with comorbidities, 5923 senior citizens and 8,058 health care workers and front-line workers received the first dose of the vaccine on Friday.
Around 4,304 health care and front line workers had received the second dose of vaccine on Wednesday.
The cumulative total number of beneficiaries and health care workers who received the first dose of the vaccine so far in the state is 4,47,724, while 76,905 received the second dose.
There was no case of adverse event Following immunization reported during the day.
Among the 21 new positive cases detected during the day, six were from
Sonitpur, five from Kamrup Metropolitan, and three each from Dibrugarh and Nagaon.
The state reported no fresh deaths during the day due to the contagio . As a resut the total number of deaths due to the disease remained at 1097 and the current death rate is 0.50 per cent, the bulletin said.
Altogether 1347 COVID positive patients have died due to other reasons, it said.
The number of active cases in the state is 281 currently.
The new cases were detected out of 12,475 tests with a positivity rate 0.17 per cent, the bulletin said.
The total tests conducted so far have reached 70,04,429 including both RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen Test.
The number of recovered patients discharged during the day was 18 while the recovery rate in the state is currently 98.75 per cent, the bulletin said.
The total number of recovered patients so far is 2,15,041, it added.
