Bihar records highest ever single day Coronavirus cases with 4,071 new infections

Bihar has recorded its highest ever single day cases of Corona with 4,071 people testing positive during the past 24 hours. With these, positive cases mounted 86 thousand  812. Number of casualties due to Covid became 465 with reporting of 15 more deaths. 57 thousand 39 patients have been recovered  from the virus infection while 29 thousand 307 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. Recovery rate in Bihar stands at 66 percent.

Patna remained on top among other districts with 552 people testing positive for the virus , taking the



total cases to 14 thousand 446.Bhagalpur recorded 3,719 positive cases followed by 3,600 in Muzaffarpur.

83 thousand 314 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Altogether 11 lakh 80 thousand samples have been tested for Covid-19 in Bihar so far.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has  requested the centre to provide more equipment to enable Bihar to achieve the target of testing one lakh people per day along with increasing the number of tests through the RT -PCR method.
