The Chinese mainland reported 209 new COVID-19 cases, including 91 new asymptomatic cases day before yesterday. The National Health Commission said, 106 were locally transmitted cases, of which 43 were reported in Jilin, 35 in Hebei, 27 in Heilongjiang, and one in Beijing. 

As of 10 a.m. yesterday, Hebei had reported 822 locally transmitted confirmed cases and 168 locally transmitted asymptomatic cases, during the latest resurgence of COVID-19 since 2nd January.
 
After Beijing's southern district Daxing reported one confirmed COVID-19 case and one asymptomatic patient on Monday, local officials said, they have put a total of 1,081 faculty members



and students from a school where the confirmed patient studies under collective quarantine in 17 hotels for further health status monitoring. 

During a press conference yesterday, spokesperson of the Beijing municipal government, Xu Hejian said that the capital city still faces a severe epidemic prevention and control situation in fending off the risks brought by imported cases and the resurgence of domestically transmitted ones. 

To curb imported infections, Beijing continued to ramp up prevention measures by enforcing a total 28 days health management policy for overseas arrivals at customs entry.
