Corona cases rise to 8,985 in West Bengal

In West Bengal another 372 people were tested Corona positive in last 24 hours in the State. With this total number of Corona affected persons have risen to 8,985. Ten persons died of the disease during the period taking total number of death toll to 415. A three member Central team currently on visit to West Bengal as Corona infections are in spate in the State .

 

The three member team headed by the Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry Piyush Goyel had a meeting with the State administration on the COVID situation. They also visited a quarantine centre at Rajarhat. The number of COVID cases are highest



in Kolkata followed by North 24 Paraganas and Howrah Districts . Out of 23 districts of the State most of the districts are under containment zones .

 

The Central team will give technical support and fecilitate management of COVID 19 outbreak to State as well as Municipalities . Meanwhile , the State Government has modified its guidelines on attendance at offices by its employees . The State Government has launched a Web Portal named as Karmo Bhumi for IT professionals and others who have returned to West Bengal and looking for job due to COVID 19.
