Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra have surged to 748 with 113 new cases reported yesterday. 56 patients have been discharged from the hospital after they were cured from the disease. This was stated by the health Minister of state Rajesh Tope through his official Twitter handle. He held a meeting with Tablighi Jamaat leaders yesterday in Mumbai.
Tope said this meeting assumed significance as some Tablighi members have been accused of deliberately spreading the infection by not cooperating with the state. He said, they need their cooperation to maintain harmony. He made it clear that the state government is keen on addressing the problems of all, provided it gets their cooperation and support. Meanwhile, Ten Philippines nationals have been
booked for residing in Navi Mumbai without informing authorities.
According to police,the ten had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin in Delhi last month and then arrived in Navi Mumbai. Three of them had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Four COVID-19 patients in Sangli in Maharashtra have tested negative twice for the novel coronavirus after the completion of their 14-day isolation period.
They are all part of a family of 25 from Islampur who tested positive for the virus last month. The four who have now tested negative, comprising two men and two women, had come from Saudi Arabia on March 12 and were found with the infection on March 23.
