COVID-19: 2,176 new cases, eight deaths in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana recorded 2,176 new Covid-19 infections and eight fatalities on Wednesday, taking the overall toll to 1070 and the number of positive cases so far to 1,79,246. As on Wednesday, the total active Covid-19 cases in TS are 30,037.

A total of 2,004 persons recovered by Wednesday, taking the cumulative Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 1,48,139 with a recovery rate of 82.64 percent, while the countrywide recovery rate is 81.42 percent.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, 55,318 Covid tests were conducted in the State while reports of another 1,257 samples are awaited. 

Cumulatively, so far 26,84,215 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State.

Out of out 30,037 active cases, as many as 23,929 Covid-19 positive patients are under home isolation across the State while 6,108 positive cases are



in institutional care.

The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts include 25 from Adilabad, 88 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 308 from areas under the GHMC, 40 from Jagtiyal, 24 from Jangaon, 20 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 22 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 48 from Kamareddy, 120 from Karimnagar, 86 from Khammam, 22 from Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, 36 from Mahabubnagar, 68 from Mahabubabad, 44 from Mancherial, 41 from Medak, 151 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 26 from Mulugu, 47 from Nagarkurnool, 136 from Nalgonda, 12 from Narayanpet, 21 from Nirmal, 68 from Nizamabad, 42 from Peddapally, 56 from Rajanna Siricilla, 168 from Rangareddy, 67 from Sangareddy, 95 from Siddipet, 82 from Suryapet, 19 from Vikarabad, 43 from Wanaparthy, 34 from Warangal Rural, 77 from Warangal Urban and 40 positive cases from Yadadri Bhongir.
