Covid-19 caseload rises to 2,22,734 in Odisha

In Odisha, the  Covid-19 caseload has gone up to 2,22,734 along with a corresponding recovery of 1,85,700, as per reports released yesterday. The state has conducted  sero-survey at regular intervals to ascertain the presence of antibodies against the virus  in people.

Gajapati district is the fifth place in the state after Bhubaneswar, Puri, Berhampur and Rourkela to be subjected to sero-survey by the Regional Medical Research Centre in Bhubaneswar.

studied more than 1500 samples to discover antibody prevalence in two-thirds of the people in the district. The other significant take-aways of the survey are ,women developing antibodies beyond expectation and a huge 95% of people revealing no symptoms.

On the other hand, while Malkangiri district is next in the queue for the survey from the 5th October, the 3rd phase of the survey will be undertaken in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack thereafter.
